Because of the content normally displayed in "House MD", this role play is rated 16+. You've been fairly warned.
1.) Respect. EVERYONE deserves it. Give it, receive it, and don't be an ass. Simple as that. No racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.
2.) That being mentioned, healthy debate is allowed. HOWEVER, this rule will only stand until offense behavior during debate becomes a problem.
3.) "Over Dose" is rated 16+. Therefore, some profanity and sexual references is allowed in role play. However please keep this to a minimum in general discussion. Think of the children people.
4.) Do not argue with the admins. It's just rude. Also, here, they will chew you up and spit you out for doing so.
5.) If you are found posting inappropriate material, (pornography, etc.) you will be banned before you can say "It's not Lupus".
6.) Spam is absolutely not tolerated. There's a different between advertising and just being a troll.
7.) Do not join unless you plan to contribute. It's kind of annoying.
8.) Art thief is a MAJOR no-no. If this is found, you will get banned. No if, ands, or butts.
9.) Use smart Internet tactics. Keep yourself safe. This means, no personal info of any kind please. If someone is pressuring you for personal information, PM a staff member immediately.
10.) Have fun.
Role Play Rules:
1.) Make sure your user name is your character's name. It just makes life easier.
2.) If you have more than one character, use a separate account for each. Please note that you will be expected to keep both active. You are allowed as many original characters as you want, but only one canon for now.
3.) You MUST remain active. Please attempt to at least log in once a week. If you have difficulties getting on, let us now so no one gets angry.
4.) "Over Dose" is a semi-literate role play. Meaning, you don't get away with an in-character post less than 200 words. Really, it's not that much.
5.) If you use chat speak or POST IN CAPS LIKE THIS, I will be extremely unhappy. So will almost everyone else. No really, I'll just down your throat if you do. So please don't.
6.) Grammar is everyone's best friend, along with spell check.
7.) Try to keep true to the show. "House MD" is a realistic show. Therefore, it requires a realistic plot. Keep it down to Earth please.
8.)God-modding sucks. Period.
9.) When role playing with more than one person, at least attempt to keep a "posting pattern". The first person posts, then the second, the third, then the first again, the second, the third, and so on. This is to make sure that someone who suddenly gets really busy doesn't get left behind.
10.) Character death is enabled on this RP. However, only the role player of the character can decide whether or not they want their character to die. In other words, someone can't randomly walk up to someone, shoot them, and declare them dead. That would kinda suck if they could.
11.) Character pairings are permitted. However, please do acknowledge canon. For instance, House isn't going to suddenly realize that he's openly gay and fall for Wilson. Cameron isn't suddenly going to hate Chase and run after some Gary Stu. Relationships aren't that random.
12.) Homosexual relationships between characters ARE permitted. If you don't agree with this, try to keep your mouth shut. Also, canon characters can only be involved in these relationships if they have been proven canonly gay or bi-sexual. So far, that only means Thirteen.
13.) If your character suddenly feels the need to get naked and sweaty with another, please please PLEASE label the thread with an M rating! Allow me to elaborate. There is NO "cybering" allowed on "Over Dose". Although, I will allow "hinting" to a certain extreme. Characters can talk about it, kiss with tongues, take off clothing, etc. as long as the rating is in the thread title. Just no intercourse, please. Let the imagination work.
Character Rules:
1.) As stated before, you are allowed as many characters you can handle, but only one may be canon.
2.) DO NOT role play until your application is accepted.
3.) Original characters are allowed to have any role in the hospital, as long as it isn't taken. A claim will be posted to handle this factor.
4.) Your character doesn't have to be a doctor. They can have any career option they want, but will be shown in the "patient" category.
5.) OCs can not be long lost relatives or spouses of canon characters. Ex-lovers are allowed to a certain extreme and with permission of the canon's role player.
6.) Gary Stus and Mary Sues will not be tolerated. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, do your research. As such, your character can not be perfect at anything or have some totally unbelievable abilities. "Lol Linda Sue's diagnostic skillz top even House!!!!" No. Just no.
7.) If you are role playing a canon PLEASE be ready to do some research! This IS House afterall! If you're on House's team, be ready to figure out some medical mysteries. This doesn't mean you have to be a doctor, but at least be ready to Google something.
8.) Your character is allowed to be homosexual or bi-sexual. Again, any problems with it can go to the debate board, but nowhere else.
9.) Make sure your character is believable for the House universe. No magic powers or whatnot.
10.) I don't want to see any Grey's Anatomy or ER character pop up. Either role play a canon or your own character, not their's.
11.) Face-claims must be real people/celebrities. No anime or cartoon characters, please.
12.) Secret Words: It's Not Lupus[/size]
Rules can and will change at given notice.
